 What is Dusk?

Dusk is a 2D Graphical MUD, or Multi-User Directory (think MMORPG but much much smaller). It was created by Tom Weingarten in the late 1990s and developed a modest following. There are plenty of features already in the game which was last updated officially toward the end of 2003.

 

 How do I play?

First, you must have Javascript enabled, it's most likely enabled if you're using a modern browser such as Firefox, IE7+, Opera, etc.

Upon loading this page, a pop-up Java Client should have appeared. If the server is running then you should be prompted to enter your character's name. If you don't have a character then type in any name to create a new one. Character creation is very simple and only requires you choose a Name, Race, and Job.

The graphics should load within 10 seconds(Cable) to 2 minutes (33.6k modem), if they don't or you receive an error then simply refresh this page and try again. If it still isn't working, or you receive a message saying the server is down, then try again later. We apologize for the inconvenience and this shouldn't be a problem within a few days from now (09/23/12).
